Three years
ago, Francisca Díaz – a law student from Austral University- reported to Willy
Fahrenkrog Podlech – also a lawyer and ex Hualaihué Prosecutor worker- for
sexual abuse when both had their first date in Puerto Montt.
The case was
dismissal in May 2016 because the court didn’t find sufficient proof about the abuse
and because, during the investigation, exists several irregular facts, like the
denounce was entered as a violation, some member of court was familiars and
people close to Fahrenkrog -for the profession of the accused- and polemic
testimonies from polices who received to victim for first time.
But this
didn´t was the only injustices in the development of case because issues and consequences
from Francisca still today. After case closure, Fahrenkrog sued to Diaz – in June
2016- for calumnies on the same court where the “irregular facts” happened.
Thus, a
report for sexual abuse turned in 180 degrades and showed us how the justices
in our country still operating whit defect as usual. A disturbing situation if we
think in the importance of protect and believe in the declaration of who claim this
type of abuses.
When our
public institutions don’t do it, they are impeding so that other victims can do
it same in the future. Although Francisca’s case didn´t find visibility on mass
medias, users on social medias created hashtag #FranYoTeCreo, where authorities and normal peoples have given its
support to Díaz, as to other women victims of this similar situations.
